Investors traded 3.647 billion shares in 244,777 deals, compared with 4.360 billion shares worth N210.33 billion in 223,284 deals recorded in the previous week.
The decline came amid broad-based pressure on equities, with the NGX All-Share Index falling 1.60 per cent to 243,052.74 points, while market capitalisation dropped 1.24 per cent to N157.587 trillion.
The Financial Services Industry remained the dominant segment, accounting for 2.909 billion shares valued at N56.67 billion in 106,662 deals. It represented 79.76 per cent of total equity turnover by volume and 43.54 per cent by value.
The Services Industry followed with 153.12 million shares worth N2.33 billion, while Consumer Goods recorded 116.66 million shares valued at N11.04 billion.
Market breadth also deteriorated significantly. Only nine equities gained during the week, compared with 56 in the previous week, while 80 declined against 35 previously. Another 58 equities remained unchanged.
Nigerian Exchange Group, Ellah Lakes, Seplat Energy, eTranzact International and Ikeja Hotel emerged as the top gainers, while Fortis Global Insurance, Critical Minerals Financing Corp., Austinlaz, Omatek Ventures and Royal Exchange recorded the biggest losses.
Meanwhile, the NGX listed the August 2026 Federal Government Savings Bonds and admitted additional shares of Dangote Sugar Refinery and Chapel Hill Denham Nigeria Infrastructure Debt Fund to its Daily Official List.
