The Lagos State Police have officially confirmed that Balogun Eletu, widely known as ‘Sam Larry,’ is currently in their custody and is actively cooperating with their ongoing investigation into the tragic demise of 27-year-old musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad. SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the police command, took to his verified Twitter account, @BenHundeyin, to make this announcement. However, Hundeyin did not provide specific details regarding whether Sam Larry had been apprehended by law enforcement or had voluntarily surrendered himself. In his statement, Hundeyin stated, “He is currently assisting with the ongoing investigation,” signifying Sam Larry’s cooperation with the authorities. Mohbad passed away on September 12 and was laid to rest on September 13. However, on September 21, his remains were exhumed to facilitate a thorough autopsy. In the wake of Mohbad’s untimely death, numerous fans and celebrities across different states took to the streets in protest. No fewer than five people were confirmed dead on Sunday while 12 others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident near the Foursquare Camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Mrs Florence Okpe, the Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the development to newsmen in Abeokuta. Okpe explained that the accident involved a DAF truck marked, KMC 810 ZB, a Toyota bus marked, TMA-244b XA and a Mitsubishi pickup van with no registration number. The FRSC spokeswoman said that the accident occurred at about 6:15am and was caused by excessive speeding, tyre blowout and loss of control on the part of the driver of the truck. She noted that due to the tyre blowout and loss of control, the truck fell and blocked the road, noting that both the bus and the pickup van rammed into the fallen truck. Okpe disclosed that 21 people were involved in the multiple crash, saying that 12 people were injured while five people died. She stated that the injured people were taken to Victory Hospital in Ogere, near Abeokuta for medical attention while the dead were deposited at a morgue in Ipara community, near Abeokuta. Okpe quoted the Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Mr Anthony Uga, as advising motorists to desist from using sub-standard tyres and to also apply common sense while driving in this rainy season. The sector commander sympathised with families of the victims, advising them to visit the Ogunmakin Unit of the FRSC for more information on the accident.

I will also like to encourage a full-scale investigation to be carried out to unravel the cause of the helicopter crash as a way of preventing future occurrences.” The former Anambra governor restated his commitment to ensuring safe and secure Nigerians, adding that fighting insecurity in the country would always be his top priority. Unknown Gunmen have killed a newly-wedded couple, both of whom are teachers at BECO Comprehensive High School, Kwi in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau. The gunmen also injured the Vice-Principal of the School. The incident happened on Monday. The Police Public Relations Officer in Plateau, DSP Alfred Alabo, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Tuesday. Alabo, who did not give further details on the incident, said that the command was on top of the situation. In a statement in Jos, Mr Rwang Tengwong, National Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Movement, a socio-cultural group, said that the incident occurred at about 3.00 p.m. on Monday. ”We are saddened by the invasion of BECO Comprehensive High School Kwi by gunmen. “Two teachers, Mr. and Mrs. Rwang Danladi, a newly-wedded couple, were shot dead. ”Mr. Dalyop Emmanuel, the Vice-Principal of the School, was seriously injured by the armed men. ”The teachers were holding a meeting to compile results of students in preparation for the school’s 2023 Speech and Prize-Giving Day slated for this Friday. ”The injured person is currently receiving treatment at the Jos University Teaching Hospital,” he said. The spokesperson decried the influx of criminals in some communities in the state. ”We call on security operatives to, as a matter of urgency, raid these communities that have become enclaves of criminals, particularly Fass and Mahanga in Riyom. ”This is necessary to get rid of criminal elements that have defied law and order,” he said.

About four persons have died, while 10 others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident involving two vehicles on Gumel-Kano Road in Jigawa. Mr Ibrahim Gambo, the Spokesman, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in the state, confirmed the accident in a Road Traffic Report (RTC), in Dutse on Monday. He said the accident occurred at about 12:25 a.m. when a bus had a head-on collision with an upcoming vehicle at Achauya village in Gumel Local Government Area of the state. “A commercial bus (Sharon) with registration number GML 260 XX carrying passengers was involved in a collision with a truck with registration number GUS 648 XA coming from the opposite direction. “It could be attributed to speed violation and loss of control, 14 persons, consisting of 11 males and three females were involved in the crash,” he said. He said that four male passengers were certified dead by a medical doctor at a hospital in the area while seven males and three females were receiving treatment. He advised motorists to shun night journeys and respect traffic rules to ensure safety on the road.

Gunmen have carried out a deadly attack in the Sabon Gari community, located in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, resulting in the loss of nine lives and the destruction of six houses. The incident was disclosed by Mr. Jerry Datim, a community leader and National President of the Global Society for Middle Belt Heritage. The attack occurred on Saturday night, with several properties also being destroyed. While nine bodies have been recovered, the search for missing individuals is ongoing. Datim commended the swift response of Operation Rainbow, a local security outfit in the state, for their efforts in bringing the situation under control. He appealed to the government to provide necessary logistics support to enable prompt response by the security personnel. Captain James Oya, the spokesperson for Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), a Special Military Task Force, confirmed the incident. Although the exact number of deaths was not confirmed, Oya stated that Major-General Abdusalam Abubakar, the Commander of the Operation, was leading troops to the scene of the attack. Gunmen had on June 12 killed 21 persons during coordinated on residents of Rim, Jol, Kwi communities of Riyom LGA as well as Gana-Ropp community in Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State. According to media reports, two people were killed in Rim village, seven in Jol, eleven in Kwi all in Riyom LGA; while a clergyman, Rev. Nicodemus Kim was killed in Gana-Ropp community of Barkin Ladi LGA of the state.
