Veteran Actor, Kanayo O. Kanayo has warned against using the ailment of his colleague, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, to chase clout.

Mr. Ibu took to social media to share a video with his fans, revealing that he has been diagnosed with an undisclosed illness.

Mr. Ibu expressed his concerns, stating that his doctor had mentioned the possibility of amputating his leg if the prescribed medications failed to work.

He reached out to his fans, humbly requesting their support and prayers during this challenging time.

The video announcement took many by surprise and elicited various reactions from the public.

Prominent figures like Reno Omokri and Uche Maduagwu criticized Mr. Ibu’s colleagues for allegedly neglecting him in his time of need.

In response to the accusations directed at Mr. Ibu’s fellow actors for not providing support, legendary actor Kanayo. O. Kanayo addressed the issue through a video shared on his verified Instagram account.

Kanayo emphatically discouraged the exploitation of Mr. Ibu’s illness for social media clout.

He stressed the importance of respecting the privacy of those who may be contributing privately and urged individuals to support their colleague in their own way without seeking attention.

Kanayo’s statement sought to put an end to the public discourse and criticism surrounding Mr. Ibu’s situation and emphasized that supporting a colleague should be a personal and collective effort within the acting community.

He underscored the need to refrain from using Mr. Ibu’s name to gain attention on social media, calling out those who engage in such actions.
