What God Told Me About Tinubu’s Administration – Umahi

Nigeria’s Minister of Works, David Umahi, has boldly asserted that he received a divine message from God predicting an eight-year tenure for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Umahi, former governor of Ebonyi State, expressed unwavering confidence in Tinubu’s leadership, attributing his presidency to divine intervention. Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Umahi emphasized the miraculous nature of Tinubu’s administration and its mission to rectify societal wrongs. Umahi said: “You must know that the coming onboard of Mr President is divine. When God starts a thing, He completes it. “So, I strongly believe and I am persuaded to let you know that God told me that this administration will last eight years because this administration is born of God. “You can see the miracle that Mr President is doing through the inspiration of God Almighty who brought him to right all the wrongs,” the minister noted on the show. “So, we are taking back this country and giving back this country to Nigerians and that’s what Mr President has come to do and we are just there to give him support.”
FG To Construct Super Highways On Abuja-Lagos, Port Harcourt-Lagos Roads -Minister

The Federal Government is planning two super highways across the country through a Public Private Partnership scheme. Minister of Work Dave Umahi disclosed this to the State House Correspondents on Sunday after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja. He said that the highways would be from Abuja to Lagos and Port Harcourt to Lagos, adding that they would be provided with state of art facilities for the comfort of the travelling public. The super highways are designed for travel at high speeds, having more than one lane for each direction of traffic, a safety strip dividing the two directions. The minister said that the government has got commitments from stakeholders to make the project a success within reasonable period. Umahi also disclosed that the president was briefed on the need to seek better appropriation for the funding of road projects to avoid unnecessary variations in cost and specifications. He said that the National Assembly would be carried along to see the necessity of providing enough fund to road project that are beneficial to the people. He also said that due to inappropriate funding, he has asked the president to direct the termination of road projects that have taken more than 10 years without completion. The minister assured Nigerians that no project initiated by the past administration would be abandoned by government. He said that the Tinubu administration inherited 2,604 projects worth N14 trillion covering 18,000 kilometres of roads, adding that a commitment was got for payment of four trillion out of this amount. The minister added that the government was also committed to the use of reinforced concrete for road pavements across the country. Concrete, he said, is capable of withstanding heavy loads, such as heavy vehicles, with less deformation and serves for years without major repairs. Several factors affect concrete pavement performance, such as traffic, soil, environmental, economic and stress distribution factors. He said that the merit of these would be the use of local materials and elimination of imported items which has been the cause of contract variations in the country. On the structural defects on the Third Mainland bridge, Umahi said that work has started and articulated vehicles had been stopped from plying it for now.
FG to redesign Lokoja-Ganaja-Ajaokuta Road

The Minister of Works, David Umahi has vowed to redesign the Lokoja-Ganaja-Ajaokuta Road in Kogi State. Umahi, who spoke during a courtesy call on the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello at the Government House, Lokoja on Tuesday night, also revealed plans for long-lasting, low-maintenance concrete roads and assured of swift progress on all federal road projects in the state. The minister had earlier on Tuesday inspected a bridge reconstruction at Gada-biu, the Abaji section of Abuja-Lokoja road, Koto-Karfe bridge, Murtala bridge, Lokoja-Ganaja-Ajaokuta Road, Lokoja-Okene Road, and Lokoja-Kabba Road. He disclosed that the federal government was considering concrete road construction innovation which he said it has low-maintenance cost and can last for over 50 years without maintenance. The minister also disclosed that concrete roads are cheaper in terms of construction cost and the guarantee of construction materials. He, however, commended Governor Yahaya Bello’s commitment to the people of Kogi State and his administration’s accomplishments across education, healthcare, and infrastructure. The Minister expressed gratitude for the governor’s warm reception upon his appointment as Minister of Works and for his dedication to the betterment of Kogi State. In a remark, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, expressed deep appreciation for the minister’s proactive approach in inspecting deteriorating federal roads within the state, which according to him, demonstrated a significant dedication to resolving pressing infrastructure issues. Bello also expressed optimism regarding the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing the country’s road infrastructure, and commended Umahi for his visit to the state. The governor highlighted the concern surrounding the condition of federal roads in Kogi State, emphasizing its strategic position as the connecting point between Northern and Southern Nigeria. He acknowledged the hardships faced by commuters, the negative impact on trade and the economy, and the strain on transportation systems.
