Atiku’s Ex-aide, Daniel Bwala To Become Tinubu’s New Spokesperson

Without any last minute changes, an ex-aide of PDP Presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku, in the person of Daniel Bwala will be announced as the new spokesperson of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This is coming barely a week after Ajuri Ngalale went on an indefinite leave of absence due to ‘family health issues’ which indicated either a resignation or dismissal from his job as the President’s spokesperson. According to sources privy to this information, President Tinubu will announce the appointment of Daniel Bwala in the next one or two weeks after he returns to Nigeria. Although Daniel Bwala worked with PDP in the last election, he has since switched camp to the All Progressive Congress and has been seen with President Tinubu in Nigeria and overseas. The source made it known that Bwala’s job for Atiku was an agreement that was bound to expire after the court case. Recall that Bwala was with All Progressive Congress (APC) before he joined PDP during the election campaign period. Meanwhile, many are of the opinion that Bayo Onanuga would be the best fit for the position since he has been actively working in that capacity. Although Bayo Onanuga would not be a bad option for Tinubu, considering the fact that he has been close to be president for decades and has successfully operated PM News as a media company but the source revealed that President Tinubu isn’t interested in having Onanuga occupy the vacant position of his spokesperson because he is Yoruba. It is worthy of note that President Tinubu has been accused of neglecting other tribes in his appointment apart from people who are Yorubas just like him. This is the reason Bayo Onanuga would not be selected to fill the position of a spokesperson. According to the source, the appointment is a done-deal for Daniel Bwala as agreement has been made between the President and the former PDP chieftain. It was revealed that in a situation where Bwala doesn’t eventually become the spokesperson, he will be duly compensated with a higher position.
Daniel Bwala Reveals When Tinubu Will Reshuffle Cabinet

By Doris Isreal Ijeoma Lawyer and public affairs analyst Daniel Bwala has revealed that President Bola Tinubu plans to reshuffle his cabinet in the coming weeks. Bwala made this announcement in response to remarks by Senate Chief Whip Mohammed Ali Ndume, who had criticized the federal government for its failure to address security issues and other challenges. During an interview with BBC Hausa, Ndume expressed frustration over the lack of access to President Tinubu for both ministers and members of the National Assembly, hindering discussions on important constituency matters. He noted, “The major problem with this government is that its doors are closed, to the extent that even some ministers cannot see the President.” Following Ndume’s comments, he further told journalists that some forces at Aso Rock have isolated the president from reality. Bwala, in a piece titled “Ali Ndume, the rant of an expert in grandstanding,” argued that Ndume lacks the qualifications to critique Tinubu, questioning Ndume’s achievements for his constituents over his 21-year tenure in the National Assembly. Bwala accused Ndume of benefiting from a flawed system without delivering substantial results for his district. He criticized Ndume’s continuous disparagement of President Tinubu and reminded him that the current administration is dealing with issues inherited from former President Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership. Bwala emphasized that the financial mismanagement of Buhari’s appointees is a significant factor in Nigeria’s current challenges. Bwala noted that an evaluation of the current ministers had been conducted and President Tinubu would soon announce a new cabinet. He pointed out that many of the current cabinet members were recommended by influential figures like Ndume, governors, and party leaders, stressing that Tinubu has always been open to reshuffling his team.
Atiku Disowns Aide Daniel Bwala, Clarifies Relationship

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has clarified the relationship between himself and a lawyer cum politician, Daniel Bwala. According to Atiku, in a statement released on Tuesday by his media office, Bwala is a former spokesperson of the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation and not his former aide. The statement noted that “it is important that the media and the general public take corrective note of defining Mr. Daniel Bwala as an aide to His Excellency Atiku Abubakar.” It added that Bwala served as a spokesperson to the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization in the 2023 election, and after the election, the need for a campaign spokesperson was terminated, and Bwala has also moved on. The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, therefore, urged the public/media to stop defining Bwala as an ex-aide of Atiku Abubakar, but recognize him by his current vocation and alliance. “Bwala offered his services and support to the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organization as a spokesperson – and it was a position he held during the last presidential campaign. “Subsequently, and after the election, the need for a campaign spokesperson has terminated, and Bwala has moved on with his career. “This, therefore, serves as notice to the media and the interested public to desist from defining Bwala as an ex-aide of Atiku Abubakar. “We duly urge the public to henceforth recognize, introduce, and define Daniel Bwala by his current vocation and alliance,” the statement noted. The clarification by Atiku comes amidst the recent fraternization and declaration of support by Bwala for the administration of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
